The Iron Swords Project

Kosher Giving was founded at the outset of the Iron Swords War to address the immediate needs of Israeli society while responding to the drive of the global giving community to contribute meaningfully and effectively. During the first three months of the war, we shared daily updates on urgent Kosher Causes and opportunities. An archive of many of those pressing projects can be found below.

Together in the Safe Room

My five-year-old son is hopping all over the living room.
We’ve just received the Homefront Command alert that comes moments before the air raid sirens.

He looks at us with a big smile and says, “I hope there’s a siren! I love sirens. We can all be together in the sealed room.”

Equinote partners with the creators of the Arcana and the Ministries of Culture and Welfare to purchase the instruments, placing them in hospitals and educational institutions, and training teachers in order to offer people with special needs access to music lessons.

Equinote: Transcending Boundaries Through Music and Culture

Equinote is visiting shelters and hotels for evacuees. Roughly 20% of the children in shelters have special needs, and Equinote is a calm, understanding presence to parents and children who are away from their routines. They offer much needed music therapy, conducting workshops on healing sounds and releasing trauma through music and play.

Grilling for Israel: Steak, Lamb and a Side of Inspiration

In the first three years of its operations, Grilling for Israel organized 126 events and served an impressive 11,000 meals. But it was after October 7, when the organization truly found its stride. In just two months, they have provided an astounding 87,000 meals, demonstrating the incredible need of this initiative, the growth of the volunteer base, and the commitment of generous donors.
